History of Neys:
The ney (Persian: نِی,Ney/نای,Nāy) is an end-blown flute that usually accompanies sufi ceremonies. It is related to the Balkan kaval and the Greek θλογέρα and τζαμάρα. The ney is one of the oldest instruments that is still in use. Neys have been played continuously for almost 5000 years.
